Terms & Conditions of Hire

Reservations:

Reservations will only be accepted on receipt of a completed & signed booking form including deposit.
A confirmation letter will be issued within one week of receipt of completed booking form and deposit.
Tentative bookings will be held for a 10days from initial enquiry. Should no deposit be received to secure the booking within the time period above, Brown Cow is entitled to cancel the function booking.
A reservation will be confirmed once a $100 deposit has been received.
The registration form signatory is liable for payment of all charges associated with the function.

Use of facility:

The client is not permitted to conduct any alterations or make any additions to the function facilities.
All crockery, cutlery, utensils, glass wear, electrical equipment, fixtures, pictures & fittings remain the property of the Brown Cow.
The client holds responsibility for, & accepts all costs associated with, any breakage, damage or stolen items from the facility & its contents, that are incurred during the occupation of the function facilities by either themselves or their guests.
The client takes full responsibility for the behaviour of their invited guests whilst utilizing the function facility, & ensures that at all times they are considerate of other persons dining at the Brown Cow.
Unruly & unreasonable behaviour shall not be tolerated. Management of the Brown Cow reserves the right to insist that guests vacate the premises.
Smoking is only permitted on the outside deck area & back courtyard. Any guests smoking in an outdoor area of the Brown Cow shall ensure that cigarette butts are properly extinguished & disposed of as not to constitute litter.
As to respect the dining environment of other persons in the restaurant, D.J.’s & musical bands are not permitted without previous agreement from the owner. Choice of CDs or individual input play lists can be played through our system. This must be arranged prior to the event.

Responsible Service of Alcohol:

Brown Cow follows guidelines for Responsible Serving of Alcohol. Staff members are instructed not to serve any alcoholic beverages to guests under the age of 18years, or to a guest in a state of intoxication.
Brown Cow staff reserve the right to refuse the service of alcohol & may ask you to vacate the premises.
Staff from the Brown Cow, at the Manager’s discretion, reserves the right to at any time, close the bar due to an excess consumption of alcohol, thus causing unruly or threatening behaviour.
Liquor licensing dictates that last drinks will be called 15-20minutes prior to end of license. This is for a single last drink, not rounds of drinks or bottles there of. The client & their guests are required to depart the premises within 30minutes after last drinks are called. Taxi services can be called from premise if required.
The Brown Cow is licensed as follows:                        
        Sunday until 10pm for 1030pm departure
        Monday to Wednesday until 11pm for 1130 pm departure
        Thursday to Saturday until 1am (following day) for 130am departure

Catering:

No food or beverages will be permitted to be brought in for consumption at any function by the client or any of the client’s guests unless otherwise approved by management of the Brown Cow.
Notification of menu & beverage selections is required at least five (5) working days prior to the function.
Anticipated final numbers are required no less than eight (8) working days prior to the function date.
Increases of numbers can be accommodated up to 5% from original numbers no later than three (3) working days from the function day.

Cancellations:

Refunds of deposits shall be made as follows,
        2 weeks prior             100% refund available on deposit
        10-13days prior          80% refund of deposit, unless special items have been requested
    `                                        which in this case will be deducted.
        7-10 days prior           50% refund deposit, unless special items have been requested
                                           which in this case will be deducted.
        Less than 7days         Deposit will be forfeited. Special items will deducted &
                                            payment required

Charges:

All prices listed are current & subject to change without notice and inclusive of GST.
Beverage packages are available, but only with the purchase of a Cocktail Menu or Set Menu.Vintages of some wines may change without notice and some wines may not be available at some times. A suitable replacement will be offered in this case.
Brown Cow is required to organise Security for some functions, this will be directly charged to the client, e.g. 21st birthday functions & at the Owners discretion. Notification of cost will be provided after consultation with the Security Company used by the Brown Cow.

Client Responsibility:

The Brown Cow shall not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to property left of the premises prior to, during, or after a function.
By completing & signing the Booking Form, the client acknowledges that Brown Cow Terms & Conditions are understood & adhered to.

Room Hire:

A $100 charge is incurred for use of the back room exclusively, and a $50 charge is payable for the addition of the courtyard area if this area is required for functions greater than 50pax. For the use of the courtyard area by itself a charge of $100 is payable. For smaller groups requireing both areas, room hire is charged at the owner's discretion.
The initial deposit paid will be held as the Room Hire charge unless otherwise notified.
Room hire may be waived at Management’s discretion. Sunday functions are only booked with prior consent from the Owner. ‘Drink only’ functions, that is where no food is pre ordered, our function facility is not available for hire unless prior consent from Owner. This is not negotiable for Friday and Saturday nights. The Responsible Serving of Alcohol Guidelines dictates that all functions where alcohol is served must have food accompanying the drinks.
